Q&A
How do I sign up to be a foster?
If you are interested in fostering, please complete our
online foster application below.
What’s involved in fostering?
At a minimum, the cats will need a safe space (separate from other animals in the house) and a family that has time to spend with them. For kittens, the space should also be easy-to-clean. After the cat acclimates, he or she may be able to hang out in your home with you and other respectful pets.
We will cover all medical costs and provide supplies such as litter boxes, food, toys, bedding, etc. if needed. You will need your own transportation to be able to bring the cat to Just Cats Veterinary Hospital if needed.
We will do the work to find the cat a home and obtain/screen applicants. The foster family will help us market the cat by providing photos and insight into the cat’s personality. Meet-and- greets with approved adopters can take place in your home if you are comfortable or we can make other arrangements. We will take care of all the adoption paperwork.
We will support you every step of the way and always be available for your questions!
How long will I keep the foster cat?
The length of time a cat is in foster varies depending on the cat’s situation and your situation. Foster opportunities range from several weeks to several months.
