Adoption Application
Please Read Before You Start the Application Process
-
Cats and kittens are social beings and need time, love, and attention. The cost of caring for a cat includes food, vaccinations, and veterinary care. Please take these things into consideration when adopting a new cat or kitten. Be sure you are willing to commit the time and financial resources to a new family member who will depend on you for the next 10 to 20 years.
-
Applicants MUST reside within 45 miles of Stamford, CT, and have reliable transportation. Some cats may be restricted to a smaller radius on a case-by-case basis.
-
Kittens MUST be adopted in pairs unless there is already an age- and energy-appropriate companion for them in your home.
Application Process
-
The first step in the adoption process is to submit an adoption application.
-
Friends of Felines is an all-volunteer organization and may need several business days to process your application. We may have follow-up questions.
-
The more complete your application, the more quickly we can get back to you.
-
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a time for you to meet the cat(s) in which you are interested.
-
If you have any questions during the process, please email us at Cats@fofct.org.
Adoption Fees
-
We take the welfare of our cats and kittens seriously. Each receives the best in food and veterinary care, as well as hours of love and cuddling.
-
The fees cover the cost of all examinations, vaccinations, and treatments for parasites up to adoption, plus individual testing for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia, microchipping, and spay/neuter.
-
Our adoption fees are:
$150 for a single adult cat
$225 for a single kitten
$200 each for a pair of kittens
-
This does not cover the total cost we incur to ensure your new family member is healthy. Additional donations are always greatly appreciated!
